One of my favorite movies is John Wick. John Wick is an American action-thriller movie, where the main character is Keanu Reeves. In the movie Mr. Reeves is an assassin, who uses all types of items to kill people, especially his favorite pistol. The editors of the movie made measured to emphasis the sound effects of the gun. For example, Mr. Reeves shows up to a night club and starts to kill the “bad guys”. Although it is very loud in the night club, the editors made sure the audience could hear every time the gun was shot, recoiled, and reloaded the weapon. Also, the audience was able to hear the bullet as it hit someone, which I thought was really cool. This is different to many other action movies because usually the sound of a weapon is drowned out by things going in the background, like cars driving by or a pedestrian screaming.

In The Lord Of Rings, as concerning the three basic soundtrack elements, the sound effect element was used best. In the clip, the audience is able to hear the sounds of animals are making very clearly. For example, when the elephants approaching you can hear every footstep, that helps convey the size and strength of the animal. In the clip of For All Mankind, the creators used dialogue to portray the story very well. Although, I wasn’t able to understand or hear everything they said, the creators were able to make the clip seem very real through the tone of the narrator.

In LOTR clip, the creators didn’t use much dialogue because the scene took place of a battlefield. For All Mankind, the creator also used good amount of sounds effects, however the effects were drowned out by a static noise. Lastly, both clips used music in the background, but they didn’t make much effect on the clips.
