Hampden-Sydney College received its largest donation in school history, from the CEO and chairman of Henrico County-based Carpenter Co., Stanley F. Pauley. The $30 million will be used to build a new science facility. The new facility will include all new classrooms, laboratories and equipment.

Virginia’s Blue Ridge region is expected to reach $1 billion in tourism by 2021. For the past nine years, Virginia’s Blue Ridge region has reached record-breaking tourism growth in the area. Local businesses have benefited greatly for this economic growth.

On a Wednesday night, a boy was found dead in Roanoke City, according to the Roanoke City police. When Roanoke Fire-EMS arrived at the scene, they pronounced him dead.

No arrests were made.
